| Matt: Ed said last week was a traumatising week for him. Well, this week could not have been better. First, it seems that the ministry of our education has decided to play an April fool’s joke during Christmas season. We’re being notified of our college admission and boy, oh boy, was it such an utter disappointment. I was posted to one of the colleges that I personally think was an undermining of my academic performance. Not that if I was truly sucky I would have resigned to fate. But from what I heard and know, this was a freak accident. I heard of people who are better than me being admitted to worse colleges; and some people that were worse, got into better ones. Sacrilege! An outright blasphemy! :-[
Oh well. Some things in life are fated.
As I stare at the calendar, it suddenly dawned on me how little time I still have, that is to the end of the holidays. It was like toil, play and back to toiling again. I would probably be having a damning experience getting used to this system. Probably if I regretted anything, that is to ask all my good o’ buddies out for a get together. I wished that life would pick itself up where I had left it hanging previously.
Okay, let’s get back to business. Comic #3 was a little late but nonetheless on schedule… Sometimes, the only regret a student would feel about drawing a comic is that he is still a student. Sometimes my amaturish hand fail to express my mind, and I do feel dismayed. This week’s comic was harder to draw than the previous two, simply because I have no experience drawing animals, in particular cat anatomy. ^^; And since this week was more action-packed, it was naturally harder to draw. I wanted to introduce ‘Unnamed’ into the comic but my paper space disallowed this. I wanted more character development for Woem and ‘Unnamed’, but my frames forbid that. I wanted to draw ambitious angles, but my lack
of know-how prevented that. =| Sometimes, I would really feel like giving all this project up, sit back, and laugh it off as a joke. Or I would contemplate the time I could use doing other stuff besides wasting hours over an A4 sketchbook. Thank goodness, I have supportive friends who believed in me, and I thank them for their faith in me.
How did you spend your Christmas? Back in Singapore, where there is no real snow, I’d really love to experience the joy of throwing snowballs and making snow angels on the ground. Until next time, have a great year folks! |

| Ed: Hi, its 1.30am on Christmas morning here. Must be a real lonely person to type this at such an auspicious hour and day right? Not quite, I'm at a party (sorta) and currently find no interest in playing mahjong or watching some Japanese horror flick. Thus, being the website workaholic, I decided to borrow the use of Chloe's (yea, the one in the comic) computer to type rant number three.
Ok, the comic is being produced on a twice weekly basis now due to the demand placed on us to constantly update and improve or face dropping viewerships. Having reached 100 hits -- half of which must have been made by Matt and I -- is a minor milestone, judging my the amount of spamming and promotion we have done over the past 2 weeks. The main problem being people bookmarking and heading directly to the forum which they feel are more happening and frequently updated. I am flattered that you guys are attracted to the forum but do check on the comic every few days 'cos we are trying to make changes to the interface, comic and other related stuff.
A new section featuring drawings and other works will be opening soon, once we have received sufficient contributions to feature a substantial amount of work. Please email us and send us any drawing or works of arts so that we can have the honour of putting them up here (",) I've tried to solicit some comments and suggestions but have largely been unable to get any other than "Nice", "Interesting", "Boring" and "Good Lorhz", come on, I'm sure you can form compound sentences!
In the past few days, we have put up a new comic, updated the characters page to include the nameless and changed the rants page to a double column one. This is just a sample of what is to come. Navigation would be much easier once the DHTML is done. Not much for embellishment but more of bringing the page to life and to make navigation easier.
Well, thats all for me now, wait till next week or the end of this week for a new comic and rant.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and good luck in the new academic year! (hehez, I know thats gonna make you hate me for reminding, but the pleasure is mine)
